Be Gone With Wilpon is a blog started by myself, David Kreshover.  I was born on Long Island and have been a Met fan my entire life.  It is a typical New York baseball fan’s tale.  My father was a Brooklyn Dodger fan who became a Met fan in 1962.  He voiced his disdain for the Yankees on many occasions throughout my childhood, and took me to many Met games in the late 70’s and early 80’s.  Watching the franchise make smart decision after smart decision while building up the talent of their roster was quite a rush.  By 1985, they had the perfect mix of homegrown talent and veteran experience to be a winner.  When the Mets won it all in 1986, I had the pleasure of attending Game 6 on the World Series that year, and have an intact ticket stub framed as proof of my attendance.  During the team’s run of success that season, I became engrossed in following every statistic of the team, and collected any newspaper article I could get my hands on.  It was a memorable time as a sports fan to say the least.

As the Mets entered the new century, I began to get fed up with the direction of the team, and proceeded to formulate my own opinions as to the cause of their downward spiral.  It is for this reason that I feel compelled to highlite the transgressions of the Met ownership and magnify their mistakes.  Perhaps more fans will grow to feel the way that I do upon reading my posts.  If not, my words can be negated by anyone who feels that they are not factual.  This is the beauty of being a blogger.  Like me or not, here I am.  Difference in opinion is what makes the blogoshpere spin.

Follow my posts in regards to what I believe to be the core issue with the Mets and their problematic franchise.
