Yes, the Mets will probably suck for the next couple of years, but three years out, a lot can happen. Look how quickly many teams around baseball have sucked one year, only to make the playoffs the next. And adding a wild card will only increase that possibility.
Having said all that, yes, the Mets suck. I’m glad they let Reyes walk, although they should have tried harder to trade him this past July when his value was at its highest.
